Steve originally hails from Midwest and was involved in oval track racing from earliest years then founded SRE Racing Engines in 1991. SRE was 1st engine builder in THE WORLD to offer a 1 year 100% warranty on a racing engine. ABSOLUTELY UNHEARD OF!!!!!! No one else has anything like it!!!!! Bought Gaerte Engines in 2019 to continue the Legacy of the Famous Hall of Fame engines, to build and maintain the best most feared engines ever built. We service all Gaerte Engines new and old. No engine builder on the planet has ever won as many races and championships and had more Hall of Fame drivers than Gaerte Engines. Gaerte Engines has been inducted in to many Hall of Fames across the world. No engine builder is as famous and has more exhibits in museums. Gaerte Engines’ mark in history of motorsports is unmatched. Now the Legendary Gaerte Engines continues into the new world! Building winning race engines and R&D research on Dyno and at track to get that last ounce of performance and reliability is what drives him just like Earl Gaerte himself. Bud Rowe (Master Machinist & Engine Builder)

Bud acquired his first car at 13 (a 1971 Nova) and with his dad, began hopping it up, swapping in a 4 speed and of course, he raced it.  His first job was in a machine shop at 14 years old and he’s been hard at it ever since!  He’s a Chevy guy at heart but loves building and refining all things mechanical.  Bud won the IKF championship in 1990 and currently wheels an ASCS winged sprint car at tracks throughout the southwest!
